Amanda's Story

Hello everyone, my name is Amanda and I am the owner of Pure Herbal Healing. I'm an intuitive herbalist with a passion for fostering a state of physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. At the heart of my work is the belief that health is not simply the lack of illness, it is the act of supporting the mind, body and spirit working together to achieve harmonious relations with ourselves, our environments and all non-human kin.

My path to herbal healing, like so many others, was a personal journey. After many years of health challenges, including a diagnosis of narcolepsy, PTSD and depression, I reached a point of exhaustion that left me feeling physically, emotionally, and spiritually depleted. It was after a traumatic experience falling asleep driving my car and crashing into a stone wall that I realized I had hit my breaking point.

“I can only say my accident was destined, as that was the first time I was introduced to flower essences.”

The kind woman who found me brought me in her home, made me herbal tea, gave me Rescue Remedy, and showed me a kindness for which I will be eternally grateful. Jump forward to today, 17 years later, and I have a deeply established relationship with the plants and our non-human kin that has profoundly changed my life. It's this deep gratitude and passion that drives me to share and hold space for others.

I started making skin care products as a means of expressing my creativity and getting to know the plants. I didn't study in school or under a teacher for many years. My schooling was hands on: growing, infusing and formulating healing creations. During this time, I learned not only about the plants' medical healing properties, I also developed a personal relationship with the spirits of each plant and listened with my heart to understand what gifts they wanted to share.

“What I know now that I didn't realize then was that this communing with plants would be the foundation of my herbal offerings.”

After creating a successful small batch apothecary, I realized that each time I worked with a customer for their skin care, we would end up engaged in conversation about the spirit of each plant and how they would support the spiritual harmony needed for true healing to occur. I was using plants to heal myself in deeply transformational ways and I felt strongly that it was my responsibility to share this and help others.

I finally began crafting and offering energetic herbal blends and was amazed in how supportive these blends were for my clients. I realized that this was my calling and realized the potential to share these gifts with others. While I did eventually complete clinical herbalism training as well as a course in plant spirit medicine, if you choose to work with me, you will find that I allow my intuition to guide the healing process.

I have now worked with hundreds of clients over my many years and crafted my own unique process that focuses on creating a safe space to explore the root of illness, rather than focusing on simply alleviating the symptoms.

My current offerings include custom skin care and body oils as well as one on one consultations to craft individual products and protocols that will support optimal wellness. In my experience, healing begins when we identify and begin to address spiritual dissociation. Through honoring the spirit in all things, we will work together toward personal healing and wellness. This will be the foundation that supports individual growth, transformation and empowerment.
